Love that Smile!

Ethan has a big hole where he has lost his top and bottom teeth. It is soooo cute! His top tooth is starting to grow in and it is HUGE! I had to get a picture of this adorable smile.

Ethan is all ready to head up to the bus for school. He and Isaac wear all their snow gear every day so they can play in the snow and work on their snow forts at recess.

Success At Last!

After an ENTIRE YEAR, Owen is finally completely potty trained. He caught on to number 1 fairly quickly, but number two took forever! It seemed like my days of swooshing dirty undies in the toilet would never end. The Poopy Chart and Beyblade rewards are what finally did the trick.

Here is Owen with his filled out poopy chart. He was so excited about it. He loved deciding what sticker he was going to choose. In true Owen style, once he got the hang of it, he went all the way. Within two weeks he was wiping his own bottom and sleeping all night in undies. We did have to work on the wiping a little because once he used an entire roll of toilet paper! Oh, Owen. We will have some good laughs about this someday!

We kicked off the potty training with our Potty Party on February 1, 2013. Here are the boys with their "friends" at the party.

Isaac and Ethan were very supportive brothers, especially when a trip to the bathroom included a snack for everyone!

Happy Birthday Scott

We celebrated Scott's 37th last week! We went to see the IMAX movie Jerusalem and took the whole family to Red Ginger. This is the boys new favorite spot and Scott's all time favorite. We were excited to sit in the low bamboo booths where you have to take your shoes off. The boys like the Miso soup, edamame and spring rolls. Scott and I love the sushi. The movie was very interesting, and has motivated Scott and I to visit someday. I think Scott had a fun birthday.

We are so thankful for Scott. He is a loving and wonderful husband. He is a fun and loving dad. He is a caring son/brother/grandson.

The boys and I made a marble cake from scratch. Isaac and Ethan also made their traditional easy bake cakes. Mmmmmmm, delicious!

The Fort

Isaac and Scottie have been working on their snow fort every chance they get. Those two are always building something. Isaac is required to check in when he gets off the bus, so he comes to the door, says "hi" and throws his backpack in. Then he is out to play. The fort really improved this day because they added the roof. I didn't get pictures, but a few days later they had several chairs, beds and even a football field/dance floor.

First Annual Wilcox Skiing/Snowboarding Trip

Scott and I have waited patiently for the boys to be old enough to take skiing.  Finally, this year we thought Isaac and Ethan were ready.  We planned a little trip out to Colorado for New Years.  Owen got to stay with Grandma Karen and Aunt Melissa and Co.  He had a blast with them, and Scott and I enjoyed our 2 on 2 time with the older two.  It is so fun to get them by themselves.  Their little personalities really come out.  We stayed in Frisco and skied at Copper Mountain.  Our bed and breakfast was awesome, and a world away from the "Luxury" Inn where Scott and I used to stay when we went skiing.

The boys chose to learn how to snowboard.  I was really pumped about that because Scott and I tried to learn back in our twenties, and we were unsuccessful.  It is good to learn young.  Here they are before their first lesson.

Ethan and I before his first lesson.  He had the cutest little snowboard.

Isaac and Scott before his lesson.  I had a little bit of a hard time leaving the boys before their lesson.  Isaac was in a class with a little bit older kids.  I went back to say bye and I tried to fix his goggles.  He gave me a "Ma-um!".  I had successfully embarrassed him, and I had to go.
Scott and I always used to go to Bubba Gumps for happy hour after skiing.  We had to take the boys here after our first day on the mountain.  We sat outside on their patio and reminisced.  The waitress talked the boys into gingerbread smoothies in light-up cups.
Here I am at the top of the mountain.  Ahhhh!  It is so beautiful in Colorado!  I just marvel at God's creativity the entire time I am there.
While I am riding the chair lift with the boys I am totally nervous and holding on to them.  Scott is taking pictures of them and even taking an "usie" of Ethan and himself.  I am glad he can be so relaxed.  So cute!

Here is Ethan heading down the mountain.  He is the cutest snowboarder I have ever seen!

Normally, we stuff granola bars and apples in our pockets for lunch.  On our last day we stopped at a little restaurant on the mountain for hot dogs and hot chocolate.  It was a really fun lunch and totally worth the splurge!
Ethan and I with our hot chocolates.
Our hotel had soup and appetizers in the evenings, so most nights we made that supper.  This night Scott and the boys were really hungry.  We ordered the boys each a piece of pizza.  They were HUGE!  We laughed so hard about these pieces of pizza.  At least the boys were being healthy and just eating one piece.  HaHa!

Our nightly tradition was a soak in the hot tub.  It felt great after a day on the slopes.

Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Korte's House

Our last Christmas stop was my mom and dad's house. We went there on Christmas Day. We had fun spending time together, eating and playing games. Mom had lots of good food as usual. We laughed that we had lots of different balls, meat balls and ham balls. Mom made a batch of delicious bunny cookies. The morning after Christmas, we played games all day. Traci gave each boy a game, and they were good ones. Spot It and Quirkle were instant faves.

The boys each got a new watch. Ethan said that was one of his favorite presents.

Mom loves watching the boys open up their presents.

Owen loved his new Cy Pillow Pet from Aunt Traci!

Isaac is checking out his new hypersphere. It floats above your hand and you can throw it without touching it.

The boys all received skates from Grandma and Grandpa. They love them. Mom and Dad had their garage all cleaned out, so the boys could skate. They did it a bunch and are really getting the hang of it.

Owen gave Mom a little cross ornament and Dad some Phineas and Ferb stickers. They liked them!

Big hugs for Grandma. Owen liked all his presents.

Big hugs for Traci, too. She is a great present giver!

Christmas at Home

First and foremost we celebrated the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. The boys paid good attention in church. They had to because we were sitting right in front of Father. We got to church 30 minutes early, but there were no seats for us. Three sweet girls moved and gave us their seats.

The annual pic in front of the tree.

Isaac took one of Scott and I.

Scott opened up screwdriver number 1 from Owen. He ended up getting one from Isaac, too, and a set of 10 from Ethan. They all picked those out independently. It was hilarious!

Isaac gave me jewelry, so he gets a kiss.

Wonder what is in there...

I got sunglasses from Ethan. The boys "bought" their presents with points they earned by going to Awanas and memorizing bible verses. That makes them even better!

Woah! Isaac actually got his iPod! He was surprised and excited.

Owen got his "mote" control boat. It was the only thing he ever said he wanted.

Our tradition is to have a snacky supper on Christmas Eve. The chocolate fountain is a new addition to our traditions and the boys loved it.
