Happy Halloween!

We had a very fun Halloween! For the entire month of October Isaac said he wanted to be a Bat like last year. I was happy with that decision because that costume took about 10 minutes to make last year. On Wednesday night he announced that he wanted to be a Wolf, so he can hoowwlll! A grey sweatsuit and a furry boa later, and we had a cool wolf outfit. We talked Ethan into being a Glow-in-the-dark skeleton. It turned out very cute, too.

Ethan was not very excited about wearing his costume or trick-or-treating until he got his first candy. The second house handed out movie size boxes of Dots. He said, "I got BIG candy!" After that he was hooked.

Isaac with a jumbo pixie stick. Gotta love that one!

Ethan liked it when Daddy carried him up to the porches.

Grandpa Craig and Grandma Karen came over to join in the fun. The boys LOVED having them over for Halloween. Grandpa got the job of pulling Ethan in the wagon between houses.

All the kids in the neighborhood went trick-or-treating together. That made it super fun.

Carving A Pumpkin

We carved our pumpkin last week. Scott did most of the work, but the kids got into it. They did not like the feel of the insides. They thought it felt gross and slimey and wanted spoons to take the guts out.

Isaac got into collecting the seeds. He wanted to save them all, so we could have pumpkins in our garden next year.

They boys wanted a picture with me and the pumpkin, too. Aren't they sweet!

Playing in the Leaves

The boys have spent many hours playing in the leaves this fall. These pictures were taken a few weeks ago, before they really started to fall. Ethan really loves the leaves. He said, "Mommy, can you rake these in a pile, so I can jump in 'em?"

Goodbye Training Wheels

Isaac learned to ride a two-wheeler last weekend. He did not want to take the training wheels off, but Scott just took them off and said if he wanted to ride, it would have to be on two wheels. A few minutes later he was ready to try, and just a few minutes after that he was off and riding.

After three trips across the yard (I almost didn't get any pictures!) and he was ready to try pavement. We had a couple crashes, but one week later, he is riding around the neighborhood like a pro.

End of Summer Fun

Isaac and Ethan enjoy their last popsicle of the summer. Isaac always wants red. Ethan's favorite is orange, but he had to settle for blue since we are almost out.

On Labor Day weekend, we started drawing a chalk city on our driveway and the neighbor's driveway. It soon expanded to the street. We had such a long dry spell that the chalk city lasted most of September. We added to the scene and drove scooters around on our "roads" almost every single day. Here Isaac is working on the ocean.

This is the first most recognizable piece of art I have seen Isaac draw. The right figure is a fish and the left figure is a fishing boat with a fisherman and a really big lure. I was so proud of my little artist.

Ethan had fun with the chalk city, too. His favorite thing was pretending to visit the Pet Store and buy puppies. He made sure to get lots of puppy food.

The BIGGEST train track ever!

Last weekend we made the BIGGEST train track ever! Isaac and Scott did most of it, but Ethan and I helped, too. The track went all through the toy room, living room and around the couch in the family room. They boys had so much fun deciding where it should go and driving their trains when it was finished. We left it up all weekend and part of the week.

Puddle Stompin

Ethan had a GREAT time stomping in the puddles on Wednesday evening. He jumped, splashed and ran. He said that he thinks I should get some boots, so I can splash with him next time.
