We started our trek back to Horizontina on New Year's Eve. We were sad to leave our friends and family, but happy to head back to summer and our pool. As we were waiting to get on the flight to São Paulo, the pilot started talking to the boys and me. He invited us up to the cockpit!
Ethan sat in the pilot's seat. The pilot said,"Just don't hit the takeoff button." Ethan quickly said, "Which one is that?"
Isaac grabbed the copilot seat. It was amazing how many buttons there were.
I am sitting in the third pilot's seat. The boys did turn the steering wheels and the pilots said that was a bad idea.
Scott with the boys. We had a cool conversation with the pilot and learned some interesting things!
For Cael, Avery and Gabe's birthdays we went sledding at Waveland golf course. It was super fun! There are tons of hills to choose from, and tons of people were there. We had a light fluffy falling snow the entire time we were there. It was beautiful!
The winter family at the top of the hill. They are such a cute family! Luke was nice and warm at home with Grandma.
Isaac, Melissa and Cael ready to go!
Ethan and Avery heading up the hill. They were so cute! As fast as they could ride down and come back up, they were off again. They did not stop the whole time. Ethan kept the same sled the whole time, and Avery had to give them all a try.
Ethan and Avery loading up.
Traci is getting Gabe all loaded up.
Corbin snowboarding. It is a miracle that I got a picture of him standing up on it! Love ya, Corbin!

Ethan took me for a ride.
Cutie Gabe!
Owen got cold, but he hung in there like a little trooper.
Isaac heading down the hill.
Grandma had hot chocolate ready for us when we got home.
Opening presents at Craig and Karen's house was crazy and fun as usual. The 7 grandchildren are very loved.
Ethan with his DreamLite. All the kids got them from their aunt and uncle.
Owen thought this really big present was awesome.
Gabe and Owen watch intently as Isaac opens his money bank. This was a very popular item.
Cael and Isaac test out the new beyblade stadium.
The boys got their kayaks! They had known about them for months, and talked about them often. Now we just need some warm weather to use them.
After opening presents everyone relaxed a little. Isaac said,"I like to watch TV with Grandpa when I am here."
Karen had a little craft for the boys to do. They made Christmas trees out of cotton balls.
Santa came to my parent's house, since we were staying with them. The boys made a haul again!
Those presents were all for the boys. They were so excited. However, this pile paled in comparison to the pile from Grandma, Grandpa and Traci. I just love the boys in their pajamas.
Owen showing off his gum, a very popular present.
Santa even brought a present for Grandma. She got some new slippers, which she really needed. She loved them and wore them all the time.
The boys opening up their beyblades. They were very excited, and play with them all the time. Everyone is taking in the show while drinking their coffee.
Isaac with his new backpack.
Ethan ripping his new mini beyblade.
Mom and Dad and Traci outdid themselves this year. I think they were making up for lost presents last year.
The boys were a little excited as you can see.
Ethan with his new mini beyblade. His face totally sums up the experience.
Grandma liked her presents, too.
Owen loved his pirate ship from Aunt Traci. He pushed it all over the house and shot its little blue spears.
Mom, Traci and I looking at our presents. We liked our gifts, too.
Traci and Owen.
Isaac is testing out one of his toys. They liked to play with everything as they opened it. They love these little motorcycles that you rev up and then send across the floor.
One of the things I really wanted to do when we were home on our Christmas trip was to make Christmas cookies. We had so much fun making them at my parent's house.
Mom is making some peanut clusters with her little helpers closeby.
Ethan and Traci working n the chocolate chip cookies. Ethan is testing the dough to make sure it is good.
Owen had to help, too.
Our first batch of sugar cookies was a flop. The boys are showing off their stickey fingers.
Mom and Isaac cutting out the good batch of sugar cookies. We used my Grandma Wiegmann's famous sugar cookie recipe in memory of her. We are going to need some practice to get them to turn out as good as she always did.
Traci displaying our bad batch. They eventually made it to the trashcan. Traci is wearing an ISU shirt, which is very normal for her. The boys noticed that, and now whenever they see ISU clothing they want to buy it for Traci.
Dad and Owen are buddies. So cute!
Traci and Ethan with a good reindeer.
Isaac and Grandma cutting out some cookies together. We had so much fun having Grandma with us. She told us so many stories and was so fun to talk to. I think she really liked it, too.
Finally, the last step. We are adding the icing. Not very long after this all the sugar cookies disappeared. We also made chocolate chip cookies. Mmmmmm!
