Fourth of July at the Lake

While we were home this summer we got to celebrate the Fourth of July at the lake. We feel so lucky to do this because it is one of our favorite things.

The boys loved kayaking. Ethan especially spent most of his time on the water in the kayak. They loved to go for rides with Scott or Corbin or just tool around the dock. Ethan and Avery were so cute playing together. They would ride a little, then "park" the kayaks, then ride some more.

The boat parade is an annual favorite. Here is Karen and Isaac decorating the boat together. Isaac really got into decorating the boat and made some creative additions, like "USA" on the back in garland. Only when you read it, it said "ASU".

Here is Traci and Avery working on balloons. We were lucky that Traci could spend the day with us, too. She pretty much went wherever we did. Even Isaac told Traci, "you were lucky, you got to see us the most". Avery was so cute during the parade. She yelled "Happy Fourth" to every dock we drove by.

Here is this year's kid picture. Karen bought them all matching shirts, which they love. The boys wear them every chance they get.

The kiddos in front of the boat. What a crew!

Cael LOVES to fish, so he got everyone excited about it. The kids spent a lot of time fishing. Here is Isaac with his first catch. He would not hold it for the picture, but Avery was glad to help him. Way to go Avery! By the end of our trip the boys had caught dozens of fish, and Isaac was able to hold one. One day they were all proud because together they had caught 18 fish, Cael 12, Isaac 5, Gabe 2 and Ethan 1.

Here is Ethan with his fish. We laughed so hard when he caught this tiny fish. He is a character.

Karen bought a slip and slide that everyone tried out Including the adults. Here is Ethan and Owen going down.

Here I am going down with Owen. His preferred way to slide.

Cael is sliding down, too.

We borrowed Aunt Diane's long board, and the kids had fun with it. First the big boys were paddling it.

Then they got all the big kiddos on it. They were laughing so hard. It was so cute.

Owen had to get out there too and be a part of the action.

Corbin stayed close to the kids to catch anyone who fell. They all stayed on, though.
