Snow Days
A couple weeks ago we got 18" of snow overnight. Isaac had school called off for two days. He and Ethan spent most of their days off outside playing in the snow. They had forts all over the neighborhood.
This huge snow drift was on our deck right outside our back door.
Isaac is in the blue coat and Ethan is in the red coat. The pile was so high that they were sliding down in on sleds.

The Daddy Monster turns 34
Here we are celebrating Scott's 34th birthday. The boys had fun surprising him. They wanted to make him a monster cake because they love it when he plays monster with them. I have been reading too much Family Fun magazine I guess, because I thought that I could make a 3D monster. Luckily monsters are supposed to be ugly. The icing would not stick, I did not have enough icing and 2 of the 3 eyes fell off before Scott even got home. I think he appreciated the effort though.
While I was working on the monster. The boys made two beautiful Easy Bake cakes. They were supposed to be people running away from the monster.
We decorated the kitchen, turned off all the lights and yelled SURPRISE! when he got home from work. After a yummy dinner of baked chicken legs and monster cake we enjoyed a few rounds of what else...Monster.

This boy is tough on clothes
Jeans do not last very long in Isaac's closet, but this was rediculous. These pants were brand new. He wore them for a whole 3 hours before he came in with a hole in them. Don't count on me learning how to patch them either.
Big Boy - Owen is 7 1/2 Months
Owen is now 7 1/2 months old. Wow! He is getting so big! He weighs 20 pounds now. He is a very curious energetic boy. His little hands are able to grab things that you thought were well out of reach. We like to call him Grabbygrabster. He does not stay in one place anymore. He is not crawling, but he can scoot and roll himself a good 7 or 8 feet from where you put him. He is such a happy kid and smiles most of the time. These pictures were taken over that last month and a half.
I love my chunky little baby. He has some big, chunky thighs. They are so good to squeeze!
Owen can eat his food really well. He loves eating real food. He has tried, and liked, all kinds including asparagus, acorn squash, and kiwi. This meal he enjoyed spinach. That always makes a cute dirty face.
He can sit up all by himself. We don't even put a pillow behind him anymore. He is very strong.
He has such beautiful blue eyes! Not much hair yet!
Christmas at the Kortes
The boys had one last round of presents at Grandma and Grandpa Korte's house. They and Traci certainly enjoy spoiling the boys. They boys are happy to let them enjoy themselves. We had a wonderful time enjoying each other's company, good food, and presents. It is so much fun to celebrate Jesus' birth!
Are these boys cute or what? Both Isaac and Ethan think Owen is wonderful right now. They love to hug on him and love him. Just wait until he starts crawling.
Mom with Owen. Owen always seems to end up with some kind of spoon in his mouth at both grandparent's house.
Isaac loves it when Dad "roughs him up".

Ethan makes the funniest faces.
Another good face. Ethan LOVES his sleeping bag, flashlight and water bottle from Aunt Traci.
Mom with Isaac and Owen. So sweet!

Dad is teaching the boys his present opening skills. He is notorious for opening his presents VERY slowly. Just to annoy us.
The boys got good use out of their sleeping bags right away. Owen got in on the action, too.

Ethan surrounded himself with as many presents as possible before going to bed.
Aunt Traci is reading a bedtime story for the boys. They love her so much! A great end to a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Jesus
Grandma Karen made a birthday cake for Jesus, so we all sang happy birthday to Jesus and then the kids got to blow out the candles. The older boys thought it was funny to blow the candles out really quickly, so we had to light the candles for each child to blow them out. Yum! It was a great reminder of why we celebrate Christmas.
I had to throw this picture in of Owen and I. He looks so cute!
Hunting for Gators
The boys got a John Deere Gator Ride-on toy for Christmas. It was one of the only things that they asked for. Since that present would have been too hard to wrap, Santa had a special surprise for the boys. They had to go on a hunt for clues to find their presents. We took a picture after they found each clue. It was really fun and they totally got into figuring out where the next clue was. Notice in each picture how Isaac is pretty serious and Ethan just gets sillier and sillier. That is how it usually goes around here.
