This week in Brazil is the week of the children. Friday is the Day of the Child and it is a national holiday. The school does all kinds of fun activities. It is a week of parties. Every day the kids have to bring treats and they do something different. It is really fun for all of us.
Today is Crazy Hair Day (Cabelo Maluco)
Traci and I easily convinced Ethan to go with an orange Mohawk.
Isaac took a little more convincing, but once he saw how cool Ethan was he went for a Mohawk, too
Owen had to get into the action, too. We just put some mouse in his hair and he was happy.
Monday was
Dia da fantasia, Costume Day.
Ethan said he wanted to be a parrot and Isaac said he wanted to be a pirate. Then Ethan thought it would be fun to be a pirate parrot. Then Ethan proceeded to remind me about 40 times "not to forget his hat.". We laughed about that for a long time. Traci and I had fun making the costumes. Traci made Ethan's beautiful wings. We cut up some of my 10-year old workout pants to make Isaac's pants. It was hard to see them go.
They are making Traci walk the plank.
Owen got a hat, too.
Ethan made a cute parrot.
Isaac's favorite part was the sword. It was super hot yesterday, and I don't think Isaac wore most of his costume long at school.
I am remembering this week last year. We had only lived here one and a half weeks. It was quite an effort to pull together some pretty weak costumes. Our costumes turned out much better this year. I actually know where to buy things an what they are called. I have come a long way!
