Ethan was asked to join the First Junior Lego League this fall. He of course wanted to do it because he loves legos and his friends Chase and Tanner were in it. In the middle of December his group had their first exhibition at the Putnam Museum.
This is a picture of their team, the Cody Awesome Lego Heads, with their coach, Mrs. Counoyer.
This is a picture of their presentation board, which the kids made mostly by themselves, with some guidance from the moms. Their challenge was to create a model showing a way to learn something better. They brainstormed together and decided to make a learning playground where kids can learn as they play.
Here is Ethan an his friends giving their presentation. They practiced hard, and it showed. They talked loudly and clearly, and they had great ideas!
This is their model. It had many moving parts, and even had a motor running one of them! The kids were so creative and had fun with the challenge. The model was so full of their ideas, we had to make them stop designing parts to the playground because we could not squeeze any more things on!
After the presentation it was time to have some fun! Grandpa Craig and Grandma Karen came over to see Ethan present! How awesome! Grandpa is helping with the tug of war challenge.
Owen LOVED the lego car race track. He spent the whole time playing there and has been making lego cars ever since. He is definitely a future Lego League participant! Grandma Karen is cheering her little cuties on!
